About
Dr. Giannina Warren is an award-winning Associate Professor and pioneer in place branding education. With a career spanning nearly three decades, she has made significant contributions to academia, research, and global consulting. Dr. Warren spearheaded the world's first MA in Place Branding at Middlesex University London and co-founded The Place Brand Academy. Her expertise in the 'professionalisation' of Place Branding has led to publications in top academic journals.
Prior to her academic career, Dr. Warren worked for two decades in Toronto, Canada, specializing in visual identity, branding, and public relations across various sectors. She spent six years at Toronto City Hall, managing city branding strategies and international promotional campaigns. As a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy, she has designed curricula for degrees in Advertising, PR, Branding, and Marketing.
Dr. Warren's current research focuses on sustainability and climate action mitigation in city branding. Her passion lies in empowering place branding professionals to make lasting, positive impacts on the cultural, social, and economic future of the places they promote.
